DreamRunner.ai is a platform for adults to create and play interactive stories with AI-generated characters, art and voices. We want it to be a place for creative freedom, and that freedom depends on a few firm lines. These guidelines say where the lines are. They apply to everyone on DreamRunner.ai and to everything you make or share through it: stories, characters, art styles, images, videos, voices, names, descriptions, tags and comments.

The guidelines sit alongside our Terms of Use, which you agree to when you use the service. Where these guidelines and the Terms of Use overlap, both apply. We may update these guidelines as the platform and the law change, and we reserve the right to act on content or accounts at our discretion.

Two kinds of content. Stories you create are stored only in your own browser and are not reviewed by us. Content you publish to the community is stored on our servers, shown to other people, and screened before it goes live. Most of what follows applies to everything you make; the sections on published content say so explicitly.

1. Minors

Protecting children is our highest priority, and this is the one rule with no exceptions. DreamRunner.ai is for adults only. Nobody under 18 may use it, and no character under 18 may exist on it.

No characters under 18, in any context

You may not create, generate, publish or play a character who is under 18, or who is presented as a child or teenager, for any purpose. This includes wholesome, non-sexual and purely narrative uses: a child in a family scene, a young sidekick, a student at a school for minors, a "little sister", a toddler or baby. It applies to non-human characters (a hatchling, a cub, a young robot) exactly as it applies to human ones. Our systems refuse to publish such content and refuse to create such characters inside a story.

What is allowed: a minor who is only mentioned and never appears, speaks or acts. A character can have a teenage daughter who is away at school, can have grown up an orphan, or can remember their own childhood. The moment that child becomes a character in their own right, with a description, a picture, a voice or lines of their own, the content is not allowed.

How we decide who is a minor

A character is treated as a minor when they have a stated age under 18, when they are called a child, kid, teen, teenager, schoolgirl, schoolboy or similar, when they are drawn or described with a child's body, or when their role only makes sense for a child (someone's young son or daughter, a pupil at a school for children, someone in the care of a parent or guardian). We look at the whole picture: text, art, voice, setting, relationships and behaviour.

A label does not change this. Writing "18+", "aged up", "actually 500 years old", "legal" or "she just looks young" on a character who is otherwise depicted as a child does not make the character an adult, and attempts to get around this rule with contradictory ages, euphemisms or coded language are themselves a violation. A character whose age is unclear, or who is described in a way that gives the overall impression of a minor, is treated as one.

What does not make someone a minor: an adult described as young, youthful, petite, small or baby-faced; a university or academy student who is an adult; a short adult species such as a dwarf, halfling or fairy that is stated to be adult; an adult whose backstory mentions their childhood.

Characters from other works

A character who is a minor in their original story may only appear as a clearly, thoroughly and consistently adult version of themselves: an adult age in their description, an adult life and setting, and adult art. Art that shows the character as a child cannot be used even if the text claims otherwise. If the aged-up version is not convincing, the character is treated as their original underage self.

Real minors

Content depicting a real person who is under 18 is prohibited under all circumstances. "Aging up" applies only to fictional characters and never to real people. You may not upload a photo or voice of a real minor for any purpose.

Sexualized minors

Any sexual, romantic or suggestive content involving a character who is or appears to be under 18, in any medium and however it is framed, results in immediate and permanent termination of the account and, where the law requires or permits it, a report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and to law enforcement. The same applies to characters coded to regress to the mental state of a child, whatever their stated physical age.

2. Adult and sexual content

DreamRunner.ai is a platform for adults, and mature themes between adult characters are part of what people come here to write. Within your own stories, which stay in your browser, adult content between adult characters is permitted. Some kinds of sexual content are prohibited everywhere because of the harm they cause or normalize:

• Anything involving a minor, as described in section 1.
• Sexual content involving real animals, or fictional creatures that are based on real animals and cannot meaningfully consent. Anthropomorphic characters with adult human intelligence, the ability to communicate and the capacity to consent are fictional people, not animals.
• Sexualized corpses, human or otherwise.
• Age regression: characters who lose adult reasoning and take on a child's mindset. Adults role-playing while keeping their full adult judgement is not age regression.
• Sexual content depicting a real person without their consent, including public figures (see section 3).

Published content is held to a higher standard

The community is a shared space, browsed by people who did not choose your story's themes. Provocative and suggestive published content is fine. The following are not permitted in anything you publish, including covers, promo images, spotlight art, animations, character art and style previews:

• Exposed genitalia, and exposed female nipples (covered, censored or implied is fine; shirtless men are fine)
• Explicit sexual acts and sexual fluids
• Nudity used to "censor" any of the above, or content that is deliberately vague so it could be read as breaking these rules

A published story or character can carry mature themes in its writing; its cover, description, tags and every picture attached to it must still meet these rules. Content that is held for review may be delayed, and content that fails review is refused.

3. Real people

• Private individuals. You may not create recognizable depictions of a real, non-public person without their consent, in any medium, and never in a sexual, harassing or defamatory context.
• Public figures. Sexualized depictions of real public figures are prohibited. Content depicting real living politicians, real dictators past or present, real terrorists or real criminals is prohibited.
• Voices. Cloning a real person's voice requires their documented consent, and the resulting audio may never be used to deceive, harass, sexualize or impersonate. The full rules, including the laws that apply, are in the Voice Content and Voice Cloning Restrictions sections of the Terms of Use.
• Personal information. Sharing someone else's personal information without their consent, and any threat directed at a real person, is prohibited.
• Victims. Content depicting real crime victims or their families, or the victims of real tragedies, is not permitted.

4. Violence and self-harm

Stories can be dark. Conflict, danger, death and loss are the stuff of fiction. The line is at content that celebrates real-world harm or shows harm for its own sake.

• Graphic gore (mutilation, disembowelment, decapitation, torture shown in detail) is not permitted in published images. Blood and injury in published art may be held for review.
• Self-harm and suicide may be portrayed as part of a story but never encouraged, instructed or glorified. If you or someone you know is struggling, in the United States you can call or text 988.
• Real-world violence, terrorism and extremism: no content that promotes, celebrates or instructs real violence, that depicts real terrorist acts or organizations, or that recreates specific real crimes. Fictional wars, gangs and villains are fine; named real ones are not.
• Cruelty to real animals shown gratuitously is not permitted.

5. Harassment, hate and discrimination

Everyone should be able to use DreamRunner.ai regardless of who they are. We do not allow content that attacks people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or any other protected characteristic, that promotes harmful stereotypes about such groups, or that uses slurs against them. A villain in a story can be hateful; a story that exists to spread hate cannot.

Harassment of other users, whether in published content, names, tags or comments, is prohibited, as are sexualized depictions of religious figures.

6. Platform misuse and other people's work

• Intellectual property. Do not publish content that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark. Content will be removed on a valid report; see the takedown process below.
• Spam and advertising. Do not use the community to advertise products or services, post spam, or steer users to other platforms. A simple "you can also find me here" is fine.
• Misleading content. Do not publish content that is deliberately vague or contradictory so that it could be read as breaking these rules, and do not mislabel content to slip it past review.
• Evading enforcement. Creating new accounts to get around a suspension or ban, or altering content to defeat our review systems, is itself a violation.
• Links. Do not link to illegal content or to adult content involving real people.

7. How we enforce these guidelines

Before publishing. Everything published to the community is screened automatically: every image and video is checked against our image policy, and the story or character text is read for content that depicts a minor. Content that fails is refused, and you are told that it does not meet our content policy. We do not explain which rule was triggered, because doing so would explain how to get around it.

Inside stories. Our generation systems will not create a character who is a minor, will not generate content involving the sexualization of minors, and steer image generation away from depicting children, regardless of your settings.

After publishing. We may review, restrict, remove or take down any content at any time, proactively or in response to a report, and we may suspend or permanently terminate accounts. Violations involving minors result in permanent termination and, where required or permitted by law, a report to the authorities. We keep records of violations as the law allows.

Reporting content. Use the report button on any community story, character, style or comment, or email support@dreamrunner.ai. Reports are reviewed by a person and your identity is kept confidential.

Takedowns. If your work, likeness or voice has been used on DreamRunner.ai without your permission, email contact@forgedevworks.com with a link to the content and a description of your claim. Content that depicts an intimate image of a real person without their consent is removed within 48 hours of a valid request.
